Happy Old Year, everyone! Today, I'm going to be doing some serious retro-blogging.

As you know, I started blogging my musical listening habits last year. However, the appointed time for the second installment of my quarterly report fell during my hiatus. This of course was a serious problem because I was forcing myself to stay away from the blog until the semester was done with... and I almost caved because of it.
Anyway, the anal-retentive geek in me wouldn't let me just ignore the occasion, so I saved all the data I'd need to retro-blog the thing when my exile was done with... and here we are today. So without further ado, here's all the crap I listened to in the Third Quarter of the Oh-Six.

The song winning the coveted title of Most Played is none other than Iron Maiden's "Flash of the Blade," with 10 spins. Runner-up was Maiden's "Aces High" with 9.

This was the soundtrack of my spiral into frustration with school, and the playlist reflects it. It had a lot more metal and anger rock than usual. The psych majors might want to debate whether it was an effect of my mood, or the cause of it... but they're only allowed a 15 minute break before they have to get back to the register, so we don't have time to explore the subject fully.


The poor, poor bastards saddled with the scarlet "A" of Least Played are, in no particular order:

The FuckMan™ is guilty of crimes against humanity for steadfastly refusing to play each one of these songs. There's a little hole in my life where these songs should have been playing... and it will have to remain unfilled for all eternity. (or at least later in the week when I blog the Fourth Quarter's stats)


The completely ignored title of Median song is bestowed upon The Beatles "While my Guitar Gently Weeps," which earned 3 spins. But really, how many people truly understand the concept of a median, much less its usefulness?


The Newest Songs Added to the FuckMan's™ repetoire are all the product of the incomparable Jonathan Coulton. In the months since their addition, I have played them incessantly. Code Monkey in particular made a serious run at the top of the most recent quarter's charts.

The song with the Longest Absence from being allowed to reverberate among my inner ear is Strong Bad's "Trogdor Theme." As we have already discussed the felonious nature of this oversight, let's move on.


The song I had Most Recently listened to as I began compiling this list in late October was the third spin of "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Callin In Sick." In this spirits, I'll also add that the song I Most Most Recently listened to (as I type this up in January) is the fourth spin of The J. Geils Band's "Love Stinks."

Well, that about wraps up this trip down memory lane. I hope you've enjoyed a glimpse into the autumn of my crappy semester... made glorious by this lameassed blog, I suppose. In any case, let's all give these little electrons a hug as they're sent out on the inter-webs.
