Almost crying underneath the vine

As I mentioned over at It's a Matter of Opinion, I'd like to offer my condolences to the nation of Australia. Look, you guys are generally all right, but there is something seriously wrong with an electorate when a douchenozzle like this is even considered to be a candidate for federal office:

Seriously, even though he was railroaded with that spelling bee thing, you never heard from Dan Quayle again, did you? It was soooo simple, you wallaby-rapists, but No! God help us all, you actually elected the dumbass. Were you all on those vodka IV drips from the hospital or something?

And you won't give up the search for the ghosts in the halls

So I'm putting up the post yesterday, and I was having a lot of problems getting the image to cooperate. At first, I figured it was some effed up new dealie at photobucket, but then I realized that all the rest of the images were hosting just fine. Then, I realized that my photo editing software at work just wasn't cutting Col. Mustard. [salute] Colonel Mustard! [/salute]
One short drive home, and a few "crop" functions later, and the comic is looking all snazzy and correctly-sized. But wait... what's that? The tooltips aren't working. That's odd... all the others are work-- no. No, they're not working either. What's wrong with Blogger this time?

Of course, it turns out that nothing's wrong with Blogger after all. Captain Dumbass [salute] Captain Dumbass! [/salute] has been putting "alt" attributes into his IMG tags, instead of "title" attributes. Many many clicks and keystrokes later, I've inadvertently built a brand new time-wasting activity for all my loyal reader(s) who are out of school for Thanksgiving break.
Have fun going back through the blog finding all the pictures!

Extra Credit for: Traveling over three years into the past, you'll undoubtedly notice that some of the swearing is starting to get stale. While keeping in mind that I'm not yet in Advanced-level Hammistani classes, if anyone wants to offer helpful suggestions for punching up old curses, drop me an email at the blog's address (stewed underscore hamm underscore sucks [at] yahoo [dot] com)

Extra Extra Credit for: Anyone that actually reads this within a month of me posting it, and has so little joy in thier lives that they have time to email me. Enjoy the points, Emo Kid, they're all you have left to live for.

The edge of night, distract yourself

One of the blogs listed on the left over there posted the 12 Products From Hell list (which can be seen here and here - though it's up to you to determine which of them is the author, and which is a copyright-infringing dick-holster) for Halloween recently. I think it was Ace... but that's not really important. Anyway, I was just thinking that I dodged a bullet because I didn't see any of that crap in my trick-or-treat bag this year.

Or so I thought.

I got to the bottom of the bag today (hey, what can I say, I was hungry and I'll be damned if I'm waiting a half hour for Dominoes when there's gummi pizzas in my candy bag right fucking NOW) and I saw something rather curious. Now, I'm generally willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt, so long as it doesn't involve any effort of my part... but If I didn't know better, I'd say those "3 Muskerteerses" bars my neighbor was passing out are Chinese knockoffs. What do you guys think?
After trying to eat one, I can confirm that those sneaky Mao-worshiping bastards have without question the worst quality control standards in the world. (And yes, I fully realize that those are solid lead ingots in the photo... you have no idea how long I searched for pictures of ones with Chinese characters on them.)
